The “Spiral-Lock (Fiberglass) 1200” flexible duct is ductwork that is well suited for use in extreme temperatures. The fabric is locked around the wire by a metal clip. This metal clip acts as a wearstrip. A wearstrip is important to have on flex hoses because they offer a better level of resistance to physical abrasions. A flexible duct may be subjected to harm from external conditions, such as being dragged along a rough surface or being hit by loose flying particles like woodchips and pebbles. The metallic wearstrip gives the body of this high temperature flexible hose more durability in physically abrasive conditions. For further protection to protect the wire helix and any equipment attached to the hose, it is also available with a polyurethane clip.
While this flexible exhaust hose can resist harm from external physical sources, it truly shines in extreme temperature conditions. It is able to function in temperatures ranging from -40° F to 1200° F. In fact, the 1200 in this flex hose’s name is meant to indicate the highest possible temperature that the hose can endure. The fiberglass fabric allows this hose to handle cold and hot extreme temperatures with ease. This feature makes the hose perfectly suited for fume exhaust applications involving aircraft and automotive vehicles.
